About Sven Moving

Sven Moving started in 2001, when Sven Wechsler moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy. It’s a cliché, but life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans. Sven bought a beat up Dodge van and started doing man-with-a-van jobs to avoid waiting tables. The years passed, and The Late Show didn’t call. Sven Moving expanded into a fully licensed and insured moving company.

Sven Moving started in 2004 as a man-with-a-van operation meant to support the artistic endeavors of it’s employees, but has expanded dramatically since then. We now own 4 environmentally friendly turbo-diesel, including our newest 2014 Hino diesel-electric hybrid box-truck. Many of our our employees still pursue their artistic dreams, but we are now a licensed and insured professional moving company.

We have Dollies, blankets, tape, plastic wrap and all the equipment necessary to move your possessions quickly and efficiently, as well is protect said possessions from damage in transit. We still pride ourselves on being friendly and down to earth, as well as more reasonably priced than many of the other professional moving companies in the New York City area.

Sven Moving will wrap and protect your furniture, televisions and larger items, but we do not offer box-packing services. Our customers should be completely packed when our movers arrive. This helps keep our prices low, and we find that this is the type of service the great majority of New Yorker’s prefer.

Many of our customers have moved with us several times, which is testament to the quality of our service and the unique nature of New York City living. We all want to find that perfect apartment.

Let us help you get there..
